St Anthony's Early Childhood Center
Welcome to the Library!
Getting Our Library in Shape!:
The St. Anthony's Library was remodeled to accomodate our little ones in 2007. The library is bright and colorful with newly painted bookshelves, primary colored rug and chairs. A college student painted a mural of the characters from the book "Where the Wild Things Are" which looks wonderful. We have received grants from the Schenectady City School District that allowed us to purchase new hard cover books. We are hoping to receive other grants to continue to expand our book collection.
The children have been enjoying Library time since October. Each class visits the Library once a week and can enjoy a special book or two. Our Mystery Reader Program kicked off the month of October. We will have different community helpers read to the children throughout the school year. Firerfighters Darren Marino and Craig Macherone from the Schenectady Fire Department read to all the classes. In November Police Officer Johnson took time from his busy schedule to read to all the students. It is so nice to have our Library!
